UW Medical Center - Montlake has an outstanding opportunity for an Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) in our Outpatient Headache Clinic. It is our mission that patients referred to us for care will achieve enhanced quality of life through their experiences at the Headache Clinic. Patients can be referred for diagnosis and management of headaches. Patient diagnoses include migraines, cluster headaches, and also very rare types of headaches such as SUNA, SUNCT, and hypnic headaches. We are looking for a motivated individual, eager to learn, to provide patient care and education, continuity of care, medication checks and perform procedures. SCHEDULE Full time days, Monday - Friday. RESPONSIBILITIES Conduct initial consults, as well as follow-up visits for patients. With keen attention to the specific needs of patients, deliver excellent care, with compassion, motivation, and sound medical knowledge. Coordinate and monitor patients' status in conjunction with attending physicians, social workers, and other providers. Respond to patients' healthcare needs, providing triage, urgent care and interventions as necessary/appropriate. Follow patients, including longitudinal care and follow-up, in conjunction with other providers. REQUIREMENTS Proven excellence working in an interdisciplinary collaborative team environment. Effective interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and clinical expertise in patient care. Experience in the provision of general internal medicine services including initial assessment, diagnostic evaluation, and management of patients. Nationally certified ARNP/PA-C with DEA. Effective interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and clinical expertise in patient care. Proven development and collaboration/networking skills working with different disciplines, families, and community members. LEGAL REQUIREMENTS Current and valid Washington State Registered Nurse Licensure and ARNP Licensure or Physician Assistant Licensure. Graduate Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program or graduate of an accredited PA program. DESIRED Clinical expertise in pain management and related disorders and other neuroscience disorders.
